J Is for Junkie [Full Length Documentary]

J is for Junkie [Full Length Documentary] – Greedmont TV presents a documentary by Corey Davis on a group crack addicts in Atlanta who live outside in a small cove behind a Texaco, infamously dubbed as the “Living Room.” They share their stories and tell us what it’s like to battle with a deadly addiction to crack-cocaine. “Growing up I never had a father, because he was out running the streets getting high… Right around the time I was born, the mid 80?s, African-American communities across the country was struck by the crack epidemic. Which robbed us our prideful culture and instantly perverted it into a counter-culture where playgrounds became warzones and families were destroyed.” [Directed by Corey Davis] “Gritty and inspiring” -Damon Dash www.greedmontpark.com www.iamcoreydavis.com @whoiscoreydavis

The fact that it’s a self-inflicted disease doesn’t mean that you? can just stop. The first few times you do drugs are a choice. After that, it’s impossible to just stop. Your brain won’t let you.

  • asraf khan says:

cocaine is for losers! heroin is better!?

  • Kayarrah says:

Let me clarify, for an addict that has been sober awhile, picking up again and using is definitely a CHOICE. But, when in the throws? of full-blown addiction and daily-use, the choice is nonexistent.

  • Kayarrah says:

You are clearly very ignorant, or uneducated…No crack is not a disease, it is a drug. Addiction, however, is a very real disease. For an addict, it is as much of a choice as it is for you to eat food on a daily? basis. You should not speak of things you so obviously know so, so little about.

    Addiction? is a disease.
People are different. Everyone is different. Why is it that someone can pick up a bottle of alcohol and put it down and others can’t?
Because they have a gene that keeps them addicted. You need to wake the fuck up.

  • mordanai says:

Crack is NOT, NOT, a disease. It is a drug addiction and a lifestyle choice. Crack is NOT an airborne illness, you do NOT slip and fall onto crack by accident. We can stop drugs but people want to get? high. It’s a fact. Just say no. That’s it. People on drugs are life pussies.

This is REALITY!! I feel the pain of this disease, cause we can’t stop the drugs! It’s the disease we must find a way to stop. I commend Corey for doing this documentary. He must be a down to earth person who has a good? heart. The lord says,” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11)
